The Art of Mark-Making (2023)
Editorial design/Installation

When walking through a city, one encounters various forms of marks—graffiti, tags, doodles, stickers, and notes—that seem to demand attention. Together, they create a unique visual culture, bringing spaces to life. But what does it mean to leave marks in forgotten spaces, and what impact can it have?

The Art of Mark-Making is a book and installation that explores the concept of mark-making in overlooked spaces through a collection of interviews and articles. It examines the psychology behind leaving marks and their effect on both spaces and communities. The project argues that mark-making is a form of expression with the power to transform forgotten places into vibrant, livable environments that foster a sense of community and belonging.

By highlighting marks left in neglected spaces, this project draws attention to their role in public spaces. Through the lens of visual culture, these seemingly insignificant areas are redefined—from “nowhere” to “somewhere”—inspiring readers to consider the impact of their own marks and to see forgotten spaces in a new light.

Grand Central (Work in progress)
Typeface Design

The Grand Central typeface is a modern reinterpretation of the historic typography found at New York City’s iconic Grand Central Station. Drawing inspiration from the mosaic signage at the subway station, this project blends timeless craftsmanship with contemporary design sensibilities.

Guided by the station’s rich history and personal experiences within its bustling halls, I recreated the hand-made charm of the original lettering into a versatile digital typeface. The design retains the elegant, architectural qualities of the mosaics while infusing a modern touch, making it suitable for a range of print and digital applications.
Miliemoon (2024)
Social media marketing/Event planning

To expand Miliemoon’s online presence, we planned and executed a giveaway event aimed at converting walk-in customers into an engaged online audience. My role included copywriting, designing event postcards, creating Instagram posts, and promoting the content through boosted Instagram ads.

Through this event, I helped the company gain 3K followers, reach 176,255 views, and generate 4.5K audience interactions. As a result, total sales increased by 46%, online orders rose by 150%, and online store sessions grew by 445%.

Capital (2022)
Typeface Design

Capital is an experimental typeface inspired by NYC’s architecture, especially cast–iron buildings built in the mid–late 1800s. Capital is a display serif, intended for large print media but also works beautifully in small typesetting. Typographically, its rigid serifs are charming at large sizes.

The type specimen includes an interactive page where audiences can have hands-on, tactile interaction with the typeface. This human interaction with the typeface brings in the spirit of the city and its people, adding a story to the typeface.

Worked on a window decal for Miliemoon, a jewelry store in Soho, NYC.

The design is worked on a true scale, and the process includes creating an order submission file in Illustrator and handing it over to the producer.
